Ayooo...I hit you with the new singles yesterday, now it's time for some albums. Although I don't have anything that's going to make y'all flip the fuck out and call up your friends bragging, some decent albums leaked over the past few days that are worth a listen. All I know is that it's a rainy Saturday where I'm at so I got nothing better to do than sip some coffee and nod to some new shit in the headphones...
First up is the new Trae album "Life Goes On"...you'll probably know him best as part of Houston's "Screwed Up Click" w/ Z-Ro. I haven't heard an album from him before, but I gave it a brief listen last night off the strength off the impressive guest lineup. One thing is for sure...Trae is a solid emcee and has some good concepts on this joint. My favorite joints were: Screwed Up, Ghetto Queen, The Truth, and Smile featuring some great production & sick verses from Styles & Jadakiss.

Next up...we got the return of Smif & Wessun for "The Album". It's Tek & Steele's first release since 2005's "Reloaded". As a casual fan of their older stuff, and not so much the post 90's material...I honestly wasn't expecting much from this joint. Actually though, the album is decent except it seems to get progressively worse as it goes on, but the first 7 tracks or so are pretty hot. I just wish there were more features from other BCC members (can a guy get a Buckshot & Sean P verse or what??). My favorite joint is definitely the single "Gotta Say It" featuring Chukii Star.

Now we got the debut album "Back Of My Lac" from J. Holiday who's hit single "Bed" is all over the place right now. I haven't given this album a listen yet, but I'm sure the female visitors of the Undaground will be all over this one regardless. I'll admit the single is pretty hot and since R&B has been kinda weak over the past few years, it's good to see some people staying true to the genre and not trying to come with a cheap gimmick, dance or relying on rappers to help sell records.

Finally, here's the new album from Infamous Mobb: "Reality Rap". I used to consider these dudes Mobb Deep's retarded little brothers...but they've actually remained pretty consistent throughout their careers unlike their extended Queensbridge family members. Their songs are mostly made up of street tales and hood narratives, a throwback to the 90's east-coast style they mastered while rhyming aside Mobb Deep during the "Hell On Earth" & "Murda Muzik" era. I'm about to listen to this joint myself, but if you're a fan you already know what to expect from the trio. Album has production from Havoc, Alchemist & Evidence and guest spots from the typical case of characters including: Big Noyd, Alchemist, & Prodigy.
