Not too sure about what to think about the cover. It's...umm...different. But so is Lupe and his music. As long as the music's good that's all that matters I suppose. I caught some promotional pictures in VIBE & XXL last month that had some crazy astrological designs that I figured would be included on the cover, but I guess not. Anyway...The new album "The Cool" is a follow-up to Lupe's first album "Food & Liquor" and will hit stores on December 18th. The title refers to a character from a track of the same name on Fiasco's debut album. The new album will follow 3 characters, "The Cool", "The Game" + "The Streets". All three are supposed to embody different aspects of life's ills. "The Cool" refers to a dead drug dealer come back to life (as detailed in the track on Food & Liquor), "The Game" is a sexy bitch who's all about money, and "The Streets" is married to "The Game" and is a wannabe rapper from the hood. A little confused? Don't worry...so am I. I'm sure we'll understand things more when we actually hear the album. Anyway...aside from the semi-confusing concept, the album will feature appearance from some of Lupe's stable of singers including Matthew Santos, Pooh Bear, Sarah Green, + Gemini and will also only have one guest spot from a rapper...in the form of the one and only: Snoop Dogg. The production on the album will be handled largely by FNF's own Soundtrakk, + Cool and Drop. It will also feature a track from Chad Hugo of the Neptunes + Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy.
