Gotta love the internet...Some dude over at the SOHH forums managed to record & rip the audio from Jay's live performances on that VH1 Storytellers special I posted about yesterday. Luckily he uploaded it as separate mp3s for everyone to bootleg and spread like herpes across the 'net. If you caught the special or peeped the video footage I threw up here last night, you already know that not only was Jay on point, but the band that accompanied him was nothing short of amazing. I don't know about you but I don't think it gets any better than hearing quality hip hop music recreated live by a full band. I mean as a DJ, I always gotta show respect to the wheels of steel, but there's a reason why The Roots are widely considered the best live act in hip hop. And on the real...that Kanye West "Late Orchestration" album backed by a full live orchestra really brought Late Registration to a whole 'nother level for me. But anyway...this whole concert is tight and it's definitely worth a listen for any fan of the new album. The quality is pretty good considering it's live and recorded from a TV and it features 9 tracks, all from "American Gangster". Check out the tracklist & link below.
