As y'all know from my Cam'ron post last week, I don't particularly care for Jim Jones as a rapper, but I just can't knock dude's hustle. I mean...In September, Jones decided to show up out of nowhere and support 50 Cent during his showdown with Kanye and did it on national TV, which caused some controversy and got himself some press & shine as result. Now, he decides to release a mixtape the same day as Jay-Z's album and titles it "Harlem's American Gangsta" and on top of that...recruits Dame Dash to host the tape. This fuckin' guy damn sure knows how to stir the shit and use other people to get attention for himself. I'm sure it's also not just a coincidence that he's releasing the tape one day before Cam is scheduled to drop his own mixtape. unbelievable. Anyway regardless...I just skimmed through this tape while I typing this, and to be honest the beats are pretty hot and Jim is actually halfway decent on some of these joints. Too bad there's almost more interludes than tracks. I can't wait to hear Cam's tape next week to hear what he has to say about everything. He told Hot 97's Miss Info that he has a 6 minute track where he discusses the whole situation. (Click here for the full interview with Cam'ron)
