"The Mixtape Rewind" is back and it's about that time to hit y'all with some certified classic material. After a load of throwback DJ Clue tapes, it's time to showcase another one of the finest mixtape DJ's of all time...DJ Doo Wop. It goes without saying that Doo Wop and The Bounce Squad personified NY hip-hop in the mid-90's, as he is responsible for putting out some of the illest mixtapes of all-time. point. blank. period. Doo Wop's whole steez set him apart from his peers...from his unique track sequencing to his convincing other artists to spit freestyles exclusively for his tapes, a revolutionary idea at the time which is still in full effect in today's mixtape game.
Below you can check out two of the greatest mixtapes ever released. And I say that without any hesitation, as anyone who's anyone will without a doubt cosign that Doo Wop's "95 Live" is classic, timeless material. Both parts of the series shut 1995 down and both begin with some of the hottest emcees of the moment (and of all-time) spitting sick freestyles in their prime. Plus throw in some more future classic tracks and remixes on the B-Side, and you got yourself a true formula that stands up against the test of time over 10 years later...
