After almost nine full years since the original dropped, Prodigy has finally dropped his follow-up solo album: HNIC2. Coming off the heels of the critically acclaimed street album "Return Of The Mac" with producer Alchemist, P put in some serious blood, sweat, and tears into this project. Especially considering that he was facing a potentially lengthy 15 year maximum prison sentence for his third gun conviction while recording the album. After striking a deal with prosecutors that would allow him to serve the minimum sentence, the judge granted him some extra time to be with family, finish up the album, and deal with his ongoing health issues stemming from his sickle cell condition. However, he finally surrendered a few weeks back, and is currently upstate serving his 3 1/2 year sentence. HNIC will be released on April 22nd on KOCH Records and features fourteen new tracks with guest spots from longtime collaborators Big Twinz, Un Pachino, Big Noyd, and of course his partner in rhyme: Havoc, the second half of Mobb Deep.
