Ay what the fuck...there was such a long break between these Ego Trip joints, I may as well bless y'all with '93 while there's not much new shit comin' through the wire. If I'd have to pick a favorite hip-hop era...it'd definitely be the mid-90's...starting right around this year. It's around the time you can really start to see the game evolve into a thriving genre with multiple layers and niches. You had the conscious backpackers, the west coast g-funk, gritty east coast gangsta rappers, and of course the unclassifiable Wu-Tang Clan. '93 had it all and more. Before all the beef that dominated the late 90's, artists from all corners of the country were respectively doing their own thing while trying to create a unique, fresh sound to define the new generation of emcees. In fact, this was the year that some of the game's most prominent new names began to break out. The debuts of the year included: Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Fat Joe, Mobb Deep, Biggie, Wu-Tang + more.
