It's time to stop sleeping on Pac Div. The left coast trio made up of Like, Mibbs, + B-Young are the latest group of hipster hoppers making a name for themselves, and by the looks of things...are just getting started. Pac Div brings a fresh spin on their music and topics shift from annoying girls and fly gear to bad jobs and shoes. As y'all have probably noticed, there's been a movement of "hipster" acts breaking out into the mainstream as of late. Cats like The Cool Kids, Wale, Kidz In The Hall, Mickey Factz, and now Pac Div are part of this growing throwback sub-genre that trades in the gun and drug talk in favor of partying, clothes & kicks. Although some are critical of these groups, I've found that they are bringing a lot to the table and offer some of that old school flavor, creativity, fun, and most importantly...tight lyrics. And best believe Pacific Division brings them all to the table with their music. After dropping the "Sealed For Freshness" blendtape in '06, they began catching the eyes and ears of Pharrell Williams, Snoop Dogg, and ?uestlove, along with dozens of blogs and publications like Vapors, The Source, + URB. While steadily building a buzz, the trio have began work on their debut album: "The F.A.T. LP" which will feature production from DJ Khalil, Exile, and their in-house producer Swiff-D. There isn't an official release date yet, but you can expect it to be out sometime this year.
