It doesn't happen often, but I guess I'm late on these guys. Thanks to my boy Harry I just got a chance to listen to The Cool Kids and their 2007 "Totally Flossed Out" EP. I have no idea where these dudes came from, and don't know much about them...but their music is definitely fresh. From what I've gathered...they are two young cats from The Chi, an area that has been pumping out quality acts on the regular for the past few years and are comprised of two emcees that go by the names Chuck English & Mikey Rocks. They have a unique, throwback, simplistic sound that is both a throwback to late '80s hip-hop and is infectious as all hell. Shit...I've had their EP on repeat all week now and am definitely looking forward to hearing a full-length album from these dudes.

Now I don't know if y'all have already been up on these dudes or what, but if you aren't familiar...I strongly suggest you check them out...
