Alright, it's time to finally finish off the crazy year that was 2007. As y'all know, I set up a few polls a few weeks ago so everyone could cast their vote for their favorite joints of the year. The polls closed down Friday night, and I think we've got a pretty clear cut list of the best albums & mixtapes of the year. Although Jay's "American Gangster" started strong and was holding down the top spot for most of time, Lupe Fiasco's "The Cool" had a late surge and cruised to the number one position at the end of the voting along with Kanye's "Graduation", Blu & Exile's "Below The Heavens", and 50 Cent's "Curtis" rounding out the top 5 in the album category. On the mixtape side of things...Joe Budden's "Mood Muzik 3" easily took the cake, followed by the mixtape master: Lil' Wayne's "Drought 3" in second. Third was Timbaland's "Shock Value", (which in retrospect shoulda been included on the album list, my bad!), then finally we had 9th Wonder's "Dream Merchant 2" & Saigon's "Moral Of The Story" tying for 4th place.

Since I'm such a nice guy, I'm going to give y'all the opportunity to check out the top five cuts in both categories in case y'all were sleeping, couldn't find them, or just didn't have time to listen. Remember, if you're feeling any album or mixtape make sure you go out and support the artists...especially independent cats like Blu & Exile, Budden, & 9th...We all know Jay, 50, & 'Ye are eating good even if thousands are stealing their music, but those other dudes' livelihoods depends on their albums selling well. Ya dig?
