Ahhh nothing like some good ole fashioned beef to spice up the hip hop community.
For anyone who isn't in the know....a few months ago AllHipHop held an MC Freestyle Showcase in NYC and it was supposed to feature four rappers: Joe Budden, Phonte (of Little Brother), Royce Da 5'9'', & Mistah Fab. Unfortunately, Joe Budden didn't show because his brother had been shot, Phonte had a scheduling conflict and ducked. That left Detroit's Royce Da 5'9 & Bay Area's Mistah Fab to battle one on one in front of a packed crowd. Long story short, in a shocking turn of events...The Hyphy Movement prevailed and Mistah Fab flexed his freestyle battle skills and took Royce to the cleaners. The Internet boards were going crazy when the video surfaced on YouTube and since Royce has long been considered one of the best and most underrated emcees in the game, heads were in disbelief that he was embarrassed by the guy who's claim to fame is a track rapping over "The Ghostbusters" theme. From there, things remained quiet until Fab showed up on a YouTube video flashing the money he won at the battle & baiting Royce. Royce responded by throwing a quick jab at him in the "Blue Magic" freestyle I posted last week, and Fab came back this weekend with a full-on diss track and went as far as going at Royce's childhood friend and dead rapper Proof. Truth be told, I haven't mentioned the beef on here because I didn't think it was that serious...until I heard Royce's response last night. So here's everything that's happened to get you all caught up with the battle so you can make your own decisions on who's ahead.
Mistah Fab - Royce Dis
Royce Da 5'9 - Who Got Bodied? (Fab Diss)
GOD-FUCKIN-DAMN...I thought Budden's last diss to Ransom was something serious...Royce just absolutely murdered dude on this joint. He sounded like he was channeling 'Pac with that first flow over "Victory". I'd like to take this time to ask for a moment of silence for the career of Mistah Fab. Poor guy.
Oh and for anyone who hasn't seen it and wants to...here's the original battle that set this whole beef off.
Side note: I can't believe dude went out and disrespected Budden like that though...dude's brother got shot and rushed to the hospital, that's not something to be joking around about.
After listening to both disses & peepin the video what do y'all think of this battle??? Am I overreacting to Royce's track or is the hype real? Leave a comment, let me know.
