Ayo. I'm back. Shout outs to LINX for holding down the fort.
Lets get things rolling with the latest from one of my favorite new groups doing the damn thing right now; U-N-I. After releasing their debut mixtape "Fried Chicken & Watermelon" in late 2007, the left coast duo's profile began to slowly rise until things officially bubbled over in summer '08 when the video for their single "Beautiful Day" began making its way around the blogs. Ever since, Thurzday & Y-O have been grinding steady and are showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.
I mean just last year they had two videos in steady rotation on MTV, rounded up an impressive lineup for their all-star remix to "Beautiful Day", were not only staples on all the biggest blogs, but started to gain notoriety on a national level. So what's in store for 2009? Well for starters, they are just about finished with their next album "A Love Supreme", which scheduled to hit the streets this Spring and have also just teamed up with Mick Boogie to drop their latest mixtape "Before There Was Love". The project features guest appearances from a slew of Undaground regulars including: Shawn Jackson, El Prez, Theo, Mickey Factz, Black Milk, Evidence, Talib Kweli and many more.
