Damn...It's been almost a full week since I dropped an Undaground Update. Oh well, not like there hasn't been a nice little wave of dope music blessing our eardrums. So I got a chance to give that Kanye album a few spins yesterday and I gotta agree with most of y'all...that shit just is not good...not even a little bit. I'm all about expanding horizons, experimenting with new sounds and taking risks...but come on 'Ye...a whole album worth of that shit just isn't cutting it. There are two or three catchy joints on that joint but besides that I really can't see myself playing it ever again. But on the flip side, that Luda album is surprisingly decent. Sure there are too many features and he follows mostly the same formula that he has on virtually every album, but there's just something about "Theater Of The Mind" that really impressed me. Sure, he's made better club/r&b cuts on his previous albums...but his straight hip-hop cuts on this one are all top notch. Between the Jay & Nas collabo, the insane DJ Premier produced "MVP", "Do The Right Thing" with Common, and even the Rakim sampled "Last Of A Dying Breed"...I haven't heard a 4 track sequence as sick on any album in recent memory. It aint album of the year or anything...but it's definitely quality. But okay enough of my 2 cents, lets keep it moving with some new music for y'alllll...
