The name sounds pretty bland, but looks are extremely deceiving. Especially in the case of one Harlem resident by the name of Charles Hamilton. At a mere 20 years of age, this kid's name is beginning to ring bells across the entire hip-hop world and in some circles, is already being heralded as the next big thing out of New York. Mr. Hamilton has already caught the attention of one Pharrell Williams, who quickly signed dude to his Star Trek label through a joint deal with Interscope. Anyone who has heard the the young prodigy's music can testify that he definitely made the right choice signing with Star Trek, as his style fits right in with Skateboard P's unique musical style. Hamilton has a very quirky, creative style, as he self-produces almost all of his tracks and has an unnatural, borderline creepy obsession with Sonic The Hedgehog.
Over the past few weeks Hamilton's name has been put through the media gauntlet as he's made his radio debut on DJ Skee's satellite radio show, appeared in a YouTube performance video with Cory Gunz, another with Crooked I, and is popping up on blogs from Complex to NahRight to here at the DU. He's currently working on his debut mixtape with DJ Green Lantern titled "Outside Lookin'" that will be hittin the internets on 6/11/08. I was sold on C.H. as soon as I saw the footage of him spittin' off the dome on DJ Skee's show a few weeks back and have been digging for as much info and music I could find from dude ever since.
Here's a whole gang of shit to get y'all familiar with Mr. Hamilton including some video footage + fresh new tracks from the young gun's new mixtape so you can find out for yaselves if the hype is real...
