Someone just sent me an email with a heads up about this crazy new concept tape from producer Omer Saar (of UniverSOUL Productions) called "The GREEN Album". The project consists of original instrumentals sampled exclusively from legendary soul singer Al Green's music blended over some classic hip-hop acapellas from the likes of: The Fugees, Common, Ghostface, The Pharcyde, De La Soul, Jay-Z, Nas + more. The result is a breezy, soul soaked mixtape that has instantly become one of the most creative concepts of the year. This project has been 3+ years in the making with many different creative minds contributing as Omer explains the entire process in-depth over at the UniverSOUL Productions blog.
With the warm weather finally breaking and summer now well underway, Omer could not have dropped this tape at any better time. I definitely recommend giving this a listen...you will not be disappointed!!
