Y'all have probably noticed that there's been a quirky new name popping up often in many of my "download dump" posts over the past few months...and when I say quirky...I'm talkin' bout the Bronx native known as Mickey Factz. Although many are quick to box him in as another hipster emcee capitalizing on the new scene's uprising, once you get familiar with what dude brings to the table, it's clear he's much more than that. He attempts to mesh the feel-good attitude and aesthetic of hip hop's originators with an updated, flash forward flow and subject matter with some trendsetting + fashion thrown in for good measure. Since bursting on the scene and dropping a number of buzzworthy tapes like "Back To The Future" and "Heavenz Fallout", Factz is quickly becoming one of the game's most promising young acts and is popping up in magazines, the 'net, and all over the blogosphere. Never one to let an opportunity pass, Mickey has been steady building his profile and fanbase by following Crooked I's blueprint and dropping weekly freestyles to keep his buzz going. He's currently at week 17 with no signs of letting up, and since most...if not all of y'all have been missing out, dude has just graciously released a compilation of all the tracks so far to catch everyone up to speed.
