Ayo...In case y'all aren't familiar, I'd like to introduce you to one of the game's latest & greatest new-found talents: Tyga. The young, multi-talented Compton lyricist has recently signed a joint deal with Pete Wentz's Decaydence Records+ Lil' Wayne's Young Money Ent. and will be dropping his debut album "No Introduction" on June 10th. Although most emcees suffer a rocky road on their way to a record deal, it was actually relatively easy for Tyga. After his cousin Travis McCoy's band Gym Class Heroes began to blow up, he went out on the road with the band and eventually handed off his demo to Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz, who liked what he heard and gave him a spot on FOB's star studded "This Aint A Scene" Remix among the likes of Lupe, Kanye, Paul Wall, and Weezy...his profile soon began to rise and after a chance meeting with Lil' Wayne at the MTV VMA's, he was on his way to not only recording a track for Wayne's upcoming Carter III album, but was eventually signed to his Young Money label. So after a bunch of lucky meetings got him his deal, it's time to see if the hype is legit and see exactly how good Tyga really is. I must admit, I wasn't really feeling his lead-off single "Coconut Juice" when I first heard it. But after I let it marinate and gave it a few more spins...I must admit it has really gotten stuck in my head. I can definitely see this kid catching on with the crossover MTV crowd just like his cousin Travis's Gym Class Heroes. I guess only time will tell.
