Staten Island's own AC has been a staple on east coast mixtapes for quite a few years now. Along with his effortless, spitfire flow, the 22 year old Puerto Rican emcee is very versatile and sounds comfortable riding fast paced r&b flavored beats as well as hard body gutter tracks. Although he has yet to release any official solo albums, dude's been featured on literally hundreds of mixtapes from the likes of: DJ Envy, Tapemasters Inc, Big Mike, DJ L + more. In 2006 he teamed up with Tapemasters Inc. and dropped "This Is AC", an official mixtape packed with both original tracks, remixes, + some of his best freestyles. After the success of that tape, he returned in mid-2007 with "This Is AC Pt. 2: Staten Lives" which was hosted by Big Mike, Mick Boogie, + DJ Skee. Both tapes have been critically acclaimed, and I can vouch that his second tape is a must-hear joint for anyone who's a fan of that classic NY hip-hop. The talented young cat also recently added producer to his resume, and has recently put together an ill Big Pun tribute tape called "Twins". It's clear that dude is on a mission to be heard, and is most definitely a name to look out for in the future. Below you can check out his latest track "New Soul" which samples that new catchy Mac Book Air commercial song that I KNOW has gotten stuck in your head. Shit...I caught myself humming that joint the other day. I'm actually kinda happy someone flipped it so I can enjoy it guilt free! hahaha
