Alright...I don't wanna spend too much time on this shit because I find it a little retarded. You all know that I've been bigging up Saigon since I started this site...and although I've bit my tongue after seeing him talk endless amounts of shit and do interviews more often than release songs, I find his latest antics to be just straight lame.
It all started last week when Joe Budden used Saigon's incident with Prodigy as a punchline during a freestyle. I guess then over the weekend Saigon showed up for an interview on Shade 45 piss drunk and started talking reckless about a whole bunch of people including Melyssa Ford & Nelly. The next morning, Saigon posted a blog on his myspace explaining how he blacked out and didn't mean any disrespect towards Nelly/Melyssa but was ready to go to war with Budden because of the punchline. He explicitly said that he didn't battle verbally, but would physically go after Budden if he saw him. Long story short, a lot of people have been talking about the situation all weekend, and by today Saigon posted another blog rambling about "quitting rap" and Budden called into a radio show last night commenting on what Sai said. Personally, I really hate to see two of my favorite emcees going at odds right now, especially because Saigon is acting like a little girl. Normally I think beef and battles are good for rap, but it just seems unjustified at this point, especially since I've heard Saigon throw jabs at millions of people, and plenty of dudes have said shit about him, yet he chooses to go at Joey over a little harmless punchline. I'm not gonna say much more about the situation just cause I think it's on some real emotional, WWF type of tip...but here's all the things you need to hear/read for yourself to draw your on conclusions on this situation.
