We got a lot of big news breaking today...

There have been heavy rumors for weeks that Jay-Z is recording and gearing up to release yet another album this fall. In a New York Times article that was released this morning, Jigga announced that after seeing an advanced screening of the upcoming Denzel Washington movie "American Gangster" he became creatively inspired and began recording tracks for a new album he hopes to release around the same time the movie drops.

Hova is going to call the album "American Gangster" and has recorded 9 tracks so far. He said in the article that the "grown up" sound of Kingdome Come will be nowhere to be seen, but a return to his grittier, street past was triggered by the throwback, gangster vibe of the film. Right now he's aiming for a November 6th release date, a week after the movie drops in theaters.

I for one have been anticipating the film for over a year, and to add a new, old-school sounding Jay-Z to the equation has got me hyped even more. I'll bring y'all some more info on this whenever I get it.

**UPDATE**

It has been confirmed that Jay will leak the first track from the new album tomorrow. Apparently the track is called "Blue Magic", is produced by Pharrell, and sounds like a throwback Rakim/80's-esque joint. Stay tuneddd for more info & of course a link to the track when it's available.
